Oakwood area of leeds?

Can anyone tell my what the area of Oakwood , Leeds is like ?. Im thinking of viewing a house there and Im not sure what this area is like. I live beside Newcastle but need to relocate to Leeds. I have checked it out on the Internet and see it is near RoundHay Park. Would like to hear from someone who lives in the area of Oakwood Thank you.
